PMLL’s new initiative the Amateur Choir Licence launched on 10th September 2019 on a 6-month trial basis. This has now been extended to 30 June 2021 (tariffs will remain the same) All choirs that wish to participate will be asked to complete a short survey before and after the trial, this will allow PMLL to gauge the impact on the sales of sheet music that the proposed licence may have. You can apply for the Licence below using the form. You can submit your data via this form.
The Amateur Choir Trial Licence
allows members of the choir to make photocopies of a certain number works (as long as the publisher is a member of the scheme) it also allows small arrangements of works without the need for further permission. This licence is designed to make access to music easier for choirs while remunerating publishers whose works are being used. Choirs will no longer need to seek individual permission to make copies of sheet music. The licence is charged on the basis of the number of works a choir wishes to use during the trial and the number of members in the choir.
